Wilmington Dance Festival
Wilmington Dance Festival began in the Spring of 2014 as the Dance Coperative hosted choreographers from around the Greater Wilmington area in an evening concert celebrating quality dance in its many forms. Choreographers of all genres submit their work through a Works-In-Progress showings process for several months to receive valuable feedback regarding their work as they create. They then submit the final work for adjudication for admission to the festival. The result is an incredible evening of stellar dance performance. This festival is co-produced with UNCW’s Kenan Presents.

Community Dance Day
Community Dance Day is our Youth Program’s year end performance where they show off all the new skills they have learned. This concert also invites area dance groups to round out the performance in an event that celebrates DANCE. Past participants have included Senior Tappers, belly dancing, and youth performers from other programs who get a chance to be on stage in this special FREE event. As part of our mission, our youth performers are not required to purchase costumes or pay recital or ticket fees.
Community Dance Day 2026 will be held May 16 @ 4:00 p.m. at Midtown YMCA. This event is free, but please arrive early to get seating. Doors open for this event at 3:30.

Dance-a-lorus
Dance-a-lorus is a hybrid performance integrating dance and filmmaking into an exciting evening performance as part of the Cucalorus Festival in downtown Wilmington. Choreographers and Filmmakers partner to create one of a kind performance art projects. This concert is co-produced with Cucalorus Festival and is held at Thalian Hall Center for Performing Arts.
Dance-a-lorus 2026 will be held the week of November 18, 2026. Information about this concert will be updated Summer of 2026.
